My Argument on “Ship of Fools.”

Ok so basically, I think Abby’s parents were totally INSANE. Who in their right mind would let a 16 year-old girl go on a sailing voyage, ALONE, across the world. To me this is M I N D B L O W I N G. I think its a parents’ responsibility to keep their child/children safe at all costs. I feel that the parents put their child at risk by making the descion they did. Just because Abby, “Had the right tools to go on her journey,” doesn’t mean she was fully prepared and ready. When I listened to the interview of Abby’s parents opinion on their daughter sailing, it seemed as if they weren’t even a TAD worried about her AT ALL. Like the author of, “Ship of Fools” said, “Perhaps someone should have stepped in to impose some parenting standards” (found in the text of “Ship of Fools”), because the parents did not, (in my opinion), make the right decision.
